A short to become series

We're Trying is a series project about dreams, insecurities, love and society from the perspectives of black people. The aim is to bring different questions about life. Impacting interpersonal and social aspects.

To show a little about the project, we made the short film "Trying". A cut from the series that features the characters Luna and Thiago, the city of São Paulo and issues with the job market.

Synopsis

Luna is an engineer looking for a job in the big city. But all she finds is an intriguing coincidence in the recruiting process: the interviewer's racist standard. To make matters worse, Luna has been staying at Thiago's house for almost a month, a friend she hasn't had contact with since her teenage years. Thiago is a successful singer who feels tied up to his career. When smoking marijuana together, Luna and Thiago go from awkward conversation to sharing the frustrations of growing up.
